German DJ Zedd and American singer Katy Perry have launched their new song 365, and have even blessed it with a killer music video at the same time. The two were rumoured to be talking about a collaboration, and the fruits of the same are finally out now. 365 is a hypnotic love song that blends house and pop to create a unique groove.

The music video of 365 is a sexy sci-fi affair. It has Katy Perry playing the role of a humanoid robot, who discovers it has emotions, and falls in love with the human subject, played by Zedd. The video is funny at times, but it leaves you with dark thoughts about the possibility of such an affair. Despite it being an age-old plot, it does bring its own freshness, thanks to the excellent direction by Warren Fu. Watch it till the end for its emotional finale.

365’s music video having taken a sci-fi route is not a surprise, given the overall sound of the record. Zedd’s electro house expertise is on full display here, and so is Katy’s singing prowess. Her voice sounds brilliant during the catchy vocal hook.

In a statement issued to the press, Zedd revealed, “Katy and I have known each other for a while now and while on tour together in Australia last summer, we started working on some music. After we got off tour and with our musical value systems even more aligned we continued working together and that’s when 365 started to take shape. As it all came together, we knew we had something special. I love how Katy sounds on this record. I’m so excited to finally share this with our fans.”

Katy Perry’s last album release was in 2017 in the form of Witness. It included hits like Chained to the Rhythm, Bon Appétit, Swish Swish, Save and Hey Hey Hey. This 15-track album featured high-profile collaborations with artists like Nicki Minaj, Migos and Skip Marley. With the release of 365, she may be on course for another album launch.
