The soundtrack of Stee continues to impress with each new song that its makers have been releasing over the past few weeks. It’s now the turn of Nazar Na Lag Jaaye which is pictured on the film’s lead pair, Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao. This song has been composed by Sachin-Jigar, and sung by Ash King.

Nazar Na Lag Jaaye is a thoroughly romantic track, which is perfect for Ash’s thin voice. The song looks to create a dreamy vibe with its music and its grounded lyrics. The guitar has been brilliantly used by the composers to create a sense of pleasantness in the composition.

The lyrics, which have been written by Vayu, are straightforward but interesting. The lines in the chorus itself are sweet – “Nazar na lag jaaye jaanu. Thought ye ghabraaye saanu.” And the lines towards the end of the song go, “Goriye ye meri theory hai. Ki ye teri meri lead mein story hai. Sorry ye khud sorry hai. Hai jo beech apne doori ye.”

Nazar Na Lag Jaaye is not an extraordinary number, but it’s worth listening to once. Who knows, it might grow on you if you’re a fan of romantic tracks. Sachin-Jigar were on a roll, with back to back great songs from the soundtrack of Stree, but this one sort of ends their streak.

The first song to release from the film was Milegi Milegi, which has Mika Singh slaying in on the mic with his nonchalant brilliance. The next song to come out was the item number Kamariya which packs an immense amount of energy in it. Nazar Na Lag Jaaye is the third song from the Stree album.

This film is supposed to be released on August 31 in theatres across India. It is being directed by debutant Amar Kaushik, while its list of producers includes Dinesh Vijan and the duo of Raj and D.K. which is responsible for giving us films like Go Goa Gone, Shor In The City, 99 and more.

Stree is being described by its makers as a ‘first of its kind’ horror comedy, and it’s based on the Indian urban legend of a witch who knocks on people’s doors at night. While Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor lead the star cast, the likes of Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurrana, Vijay Raaz and others will also be seen in the film.
