There are a few big names when it comes to the Punjabi music industry, and Guri has a made a good name for himself in the same. Appreciated and loved by a huge number of fans, Guri was born as Guri Khattra in Patiala, Punjab. He made his singing debut with “Mashooq Fatte Chakni” in 2016 but became a prominent singer in Punjabi with the song “Yaar Beli” in 2017. His latest release “Nira Ishq” is currently trending on YouTube, and his fans are eager to see him rank first on the social media channel with his music.

A romantic song, “Nira Ishq” has been written, composed and sung by Guri himself. The music and video have been mixed and mastered by Jeffery Thompson and Ricardo Sangio respectively, and the choreography done by Sahaj Singh and Sreoshi Kumar. The music was released on 26 December this year and has received more than 4.6 million views already. It was released under the music label of Geet MP3 and produced by Fateh Film Production.

In comparison to the other songs as composed by Guri, “Nira Ishq” does promise something different. Guri sings of his love to his partner (played by Sara Khatri), and how he promises to be there for her forever. For the first time, one can detect the hint of sincerity in Guri’s words, which was somehow in his earlier videos. The music video begins with a beautiful piano tune that continues throughout the song, and when combined with a modern background does give out a pleasant effect.

The music video focuses on a young couple (played by Guri and Punjabi actress Sarah Khatri), where she constantly yearns for romance with her partner. There are scenes where she waits for Guri to make the first movie, but he doesn’t seem to understand her feelings. However, the couple dance, in the end, reaffirms the fact that he does love her though he does not make a show of it – which is a concept highly appreciated.

As a conclusion, Guri’s latest song “Nira Ishq” has evolved from a Roadside Romeo-falling-in-love-with-a-girl concept to a romantic portrayal of a not-so- romantic man who tries to make his ladylove feel special. And so, there’s hope that Guri will continue to make music like this and make his fans proud.
