The music from the soundtrack of Genius has been pretty impressive so far with songs like Tera Fitoor and Dil Meri Na Sune. And now one more track from the Himesh Reshammiya album has hit the shores. Called Pyar De Pyar Le, it has been sung by Dev Negi, Ikka and Iulia Vantur. The video of this song is also out now on YouTube, and it most notably features Nawazuddin Siddiqui shaking a leg with the lead actors of the film.

Pyar De Pyar Le is a party song with a catchy hook, but we won’t say that there’s anything very fresh about it. This track’s sound can be divided into two parts. One sounds like a general electronic party song, while the other part which has the lyrics, sounds like a typical Himesh Reshammiya number. Strangely enough, Dev Negi has adopted Himesh’s singing style for this track for some reason.

Iulia Vantur’s voice is heavily autotuned, but her rendition of the Arabic lines, “Almasqa Habibi.. O Habibi” is quite groovy. As for Ikka, his rap portion is the poorest part of the song. With drab lyrics like “Aise toh kamar tu hila mat. Dawaa mein husn ka nasha tu mila mat. Na matak tu aise chor ko jala mat. Koi tujhe chhede aayi uski shaamat,” come off has hastily written. And plus, his voice too doesn’t manage to add any heft to the song.

The music video of Pyar De Pyar Le seems to be a show-off between the lead actor and the villain. It takes place inside a club and begins with Nawazuddin Siddiqui breaking into a jig along with his entourage of bodyguards. We have rarely seen the actor dancing, and it’s hence pretty comical to watch him pull off his funny dance moves.

Genius is a film directed by Anil Sharma who is known for having directed Gadar: Ek Prem Katha. Interestingly enough, the small kid from that film, who is also Anil’s son, is the lead actor in this one. This film also stars Ishita Chauhan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Mithun Chakraborty, Ayesha Jhulka, K. K. Raina, Zakir Hussain, Abhimanyu Singh, Dev Gill and others.

The film falls into the action thriller genre and is slated to hit theatres across India on August 24, which is not too far away from now.
