The trailer of Made In China grabbed many eyeballs upon its arrival a few days back, and the makers of this upcoming film have unveiled the first song from its soundtrack. It’s called ‘Odhani,’ and it borrows from the popular Gujarati garba song, ‘Odhani Odhu.’ The song’s video features a sizzling dance performance from Mouni Roy, which has Rajkummar Rao drooling over her. It has been sung by Darshan Raval and Neha Kakkar, while it has been composed by the pair of Sachin and Jigar.

‘Odhani’ just grabs its chorus portion from the garba version. The additional lyrics by Niren Bhatt and Jigar Saraiya are in Hindi, and have been written with an aim of giving the song a modern sound. But one thing that sounded very peculiar to us was the hook, which goes, “Odhani udde udde re. Akhiyan mude mude re. Odhani udde udde re. Akhiyan mude mude re. Mere seene mein kuchh kuchh thaye.” Its tune seems to have directly been lifted from a Marathi song called ‘Nakhwa Botine Phirwal Ka.”

Neha Kakkar and Darshan Raval have sung the track to their respective potentials, so there’s no room to complain there. But the overall nature of the track doesn’t have anything extraordinary to offer. It just sounds like a mash up of a Gujarati song and a Marathi song, with Hindi lyrics added in between. This is the first track from Made In China to be released online. Its entire soundtrack seems to be have been composed by Sachin-Jigar, with lyrics from Vayu, Jigar Saraiya, Priya Saraiya and Niren Bhatt.

Made In China is a comedy directed by Mikhil Musale, who is known for his 2016 Gujarati film, Wrong Side Raju. The film explores the story of a Gujarati businessman who goes to China to increase his business prospects. It will be released in theatres on October 25.
