After creating waves with Chogada, the makers of Loveratri have now released one more garba-themed song from the upcoming film, titled Rangtaari. The video of this one features the film’s lead actor Aayush Sharma. This track has been sung by Dev Negi, and also features a rap by none other than Yo Yo Honey Singh.

The song starts off with two lines from a popular bhajan. They go, “Yashomati mayya se bole nandlaala. Radha kyun gori, main kyun kaala?” These lines, along with the music, manage to establish a Navratri vibe early on in the song. But the song quickly transitions into something different.

It lets go of its garba leanings and adopts a generic approach. During the verses, the composition begins to sound more like raps. But it steers back into garba territory during the chorus, which goes, “Rangtaari rangtaari. Tune aankhein ghuma ke jo maari.”

Then comes the rap by Yo Yo Honey Singh. The words to this have been written by him and Hommie Dilliwala, and they fit right into the overall theme of the song. But we won’t say that this rap portion stands out in any way.

The song has been composed by Tanishk Bagchi who has also been responsible for two other tracks from the film, Tera Hua and Akh Lad Jaave. The lyrics have been penned by Shabbir Ahmed, while additional vocals have been provided by Raja Hassan. The song’s video features Aayush Sharma dancing in what looks like some sort of a dance competition. It has been well shot, with great camera tricks and visual effects.

Loveratri is an upcoming film that is being directed by Abhiraj Minawala. Produced by Salman Khan Films, it stars his brother in law Aayush Sharma and newcomer Warina Hussain. The film also stars Anshuman Jha, Ram Kapoor and Ronit Roy.

Ahead of its release, the film has been in the news for the controversies surrounding it. Various Hindi outfits have referred to its title being offensive as it plays on the name of a holy festival. Just a few days ago, Shiv Sena warned theatre owners in Maharashtra to not screen the film for this very reason.

Loveratri is scheduled to release on October 5, but it seems like it’s headed towards a Padmavat-like ordeal.
