Few know that Richa Chadha is a trained singer, since she has chosen not to explore anything other than acting till now. The acclaimed actor is now all set to have her first song released, and she will be singing it with UK-based Punjabi artist Dr Zeus. This song will be a Punjabi-Hindi affair, from what we are told.
The collaborative effort between the two is going to culminate into a dance number. They had apparently met for the first time through a common friend, and when Zeus found out that Richa is a trained singer, he asked her to record a song with him. This culminated into a recording of the track, after which the decision to shoot a music video for it was taken.
It’s being said that Richa has practised her bhangra moves for two weeks before starting with the shoot of this music video. Apart from Richa and Zeus, Richa’s Fukrey co-star Varun Sharma will also supposedly be seen in it.

Richa Chadha seems to be following in the footsteps of her Bollywood compatriots by turning singer. The first to take this leap was of course Priyanka Chopra, while others like Alia Bhatt, Parineet Chopra and Shraddha Kapoor followed in quick succession.
Richa Chadha made her debut in Bollywood back in 2008 with Dibakar Banerjee’s Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye! in which she played a supporting role that received quite some admiration. She was later also seen in Benny and Babloo, but her breakthrough role was of course in Anurag Kashyap’s two-part revenge saga, Gangs of Wasseypur. She was showered with praises for challenging role.
She has since given us a number of unforgettable performances in movies like Fukrey, Masaan, Sarbjit and more. She was recently seen in Inside Edge, an Amazon Prime India original series based on the rampant corruption in the world of domestic T20 cricket leagues.

Richa’s upcoming projects are also interesting. There’s Sudhir Mishra’s Daas Dev, which is one more adaptation of Devdas, and then there’s Love Sonia which boasts of an ensemble cast that includes Freida Pinto, Demi Moore, Manoj Bajpayee, Anupam Kher, Adil Hussain, Rajkummar Rao and Sai Tamhankar.
All this and then of course, her singing debut which is right around the corner. Richa Chadha’s life sure is very interesting.
