Salman Khan VS. Arijit Singh – Who Wins In The Longer Run?

Is Salman Khan's rejection of Arijit Singh's Tracks a continuation of the 2014 controversy?

If you want to make it big in Bollywood, you will have to adjust with your fair share of controversies too! Scandals and fame have a healthy co-existence in Bollywood since decades. And just when you thought actors and producers are the only ones susceptible to controversies, there comes singers and musicians marching into the spotlight that has controversy written all over it. It’s not an exaggeration to say that Arijit Singh has won all hearts with his impeccable voice right from the times of his performances in Fame Gurukul (2005). Since then, he has shown unwavering spirit in this uncertain B-town. The singer has also consistently been resilient to gossips.

Recently, with strict opposition to Padmaavat and its song Binte dil, Arijit has kept his sanity intact through it all. Although he was immensely appreciated for the same as well, he wasn’t shielded from all the scandalous proceedings.

A recent report, which has all the Arijit Singh fans agitated and angry on Salman Khan, says that Salman Khan has rejected and replaced Arijit Singh as the playback singer for one of the songs in the movie Welcome to New York. Everyone was keen on keeping an Arijit track in the movie starring Sonakshi Sinha and Diljit Dosanjh. But the Tiger of B-town, who makes a cameo appearance rejected a rough version of the track Ishtehaar from the movie. Salman in fact, seems to be against keeping a track by this singer altogether.

This is not a recent trend. The rivalry dates back to 2014 when Arijit and Salman had a little argument at an award function with Salman subtly insulting Arijit’s major hit “Tum hi ho” on the stage. Following that Salman had expelled Arijit from singing the song Jag Ghoomeyan in Sultan and replaced him with Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.

Salman has been dismissing Arijit’s tracks for a while now, including tracks from Kick followed by Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.

Arijit Singh, however, says that he doesn’t give criticism on social media any heed. He also added that he did not read any comments and his teams filters them for him. For Arijit the use of social media is only for very personal reasons.

I am sure we are all sensitive to quick temper and we have all been guilty of that. The only difference between us and celebs is that they are famous. Well we surely hope they reconcile soon. Between Salman and Arijit we don’t know who is more at a loss but the audience is surely suffering a major deal!
