If you haven’t watched Gully Boy yet, you’re missing out on a lot. Among those things is the spirited and stunning performance by Siddhanth Chaturvedi who plays the character of MC Sher. The makers of the film have now released a short portion from the film in which MC Sher showcases his talent for the first time, while singing the song, Sher Aaya Sher.

This song is part of the massive 18-track soundtrack of the film, and has been written and sung by Divine. It has been composed by Chandrashekar Kunder, who is better known in hip-hop circles as Major C. The hook portion of this song is its most energetic part. It goes, “Bhag bhag bhag, aaya Sher aaya sher. Bhag bhag bhag, aaya Sher aaya sher. Sachchai ki hai lehar. Mohalle mein keher.”

The song is played in the film during a college festival where Jasleen Royal is singing on the stage, and is heckled by a student. Seeing this, MC Sher picks up the mic, and goes on to render a hard-hitting commentary on what it means to be a real man.

Siddhant Chaturvedi, who plays the role of MC Sher in Gully Boy was showered with rave reviews for his performance. The actor who was previously seen in the Amazon Prime Original, Inside Edge, got the role only a month before the film went on the floors.

Gully Boy has had a great run at the box office. It has managed to earn upwards for 120 crores in 18 days. The film stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in lead roles, and chronicles the journey of an aspiring rapper from Dharavi who dreams big. Apart from Siddhanth Chaturvedi, the performances of other actors like Vijay Verma, Vijay Raaz and Amruta Subhash were also appreciated.

If you haven’t watched Gully Boy yet, it is still playing in selected theatres, so don’t miss it.
