Heard It Yet? Ban Ja Rani Singer Guru Randhawa’s New Single Is Called Lahore

Will this one too become a massive hit like his other songs?

With Ban Ja Rani still fresh on everyone’s playlists, Guru Randhawa has come out with yet another new song named Lahore. The video for this one is already live on YouTube, and has garnered a whopping 17 million views in just 4 days.

The lyrics for this song have been written by Guru himself, while he has also composed it on his own. Before this, Randhawa has blessed us with massive hits like Suit Suit and Ban Ja Rani, which are both tremendously catchy numbers, but unfortunately, the same cannot be said about Lahore.

That doesn’t mean it’s a bad song however. It’s just that there’s nothing extraordinary in it. It has the singer describing a woman he just saw by comparing her to women from different places like Lahore, Bombay, London and more.

Lahore is set to slow beats that are complemented by some very generic music. The voice of Guru turns out to the saving grace for this song in a way. The uniqueness of this voice – though it’s of course autotuned – gives the song the flavour it so desperately needs.

In the music video for Lahore, Guru gets a call from his mother who has sent him the picture of a girl she wants him to meet. But he is unable to download it due to poor connectivity. He then bumps into a girl and gets smitten by her, only to realize much later that she is the same girl from the photo.

With 17 million views and counting, Lahore promises to be a massive hit, especially among those who enjoy Punjabi music. Besides, there’s also the massive fan base that Guru Randhawa is enjoying currently.
