The “bhasoodi” song has been sung by Sonu Thukral and the word refers to a ‘messed-up situation’ in Punjabi. The lyrics and the music have been composed by Preet Hundal, and the rap section has been written and performed by Pardhaan. The music was mixed by Sameer Charegaonkar, and the video was directed by Robby Singh under the label of Geet MP3. The music video features Sonu Thukral, Pardhaan and television actress Hina Khan. Hina it seems has done a great job in the music video and has attracted much attention.

The music video begins with Sonu Thukral trying to call his girlfriend, but her phone seems to be engaged on another call. After a surprising revelation regarding a mysterious new iPhone, Sonu and his friends set out to investigate the matter, and from there the song begins. The video will certainly make you laugh in spite of the situation, with its hilarious dance steps and Sonu’s attempts to catch Hina red-handed. Of course, Hina leaves him at the end of video and gets into the car with another man.

The lyrics are in a Punjabi-accented Hindi, mixed with a catchy musical background score. What one would really like about the song is that though focuses on a group of ‘tapori’ boys, there has been no use of misogynistic or abusive language. It’s a fun song that simply focuses on the break-up and Hina’s flirtatious attitude as she switches from one man to another simply because of money.

Overall, Sonu Thukral’s “Bhasoodi” is the theme song for those who have suffered a recent break-up and need something to cheer up with. Relationships will come and go, but what is important is to accept the truth and just move on with your life. Till then, nurse your heart with this crazy and colorful song.
