The progress of Indian music scenario is staggering. So many young, indie musicians have showcased their talent either via YouTube or just some casual basking. From Prateek Kuhad to Parekh & Singh, these young artists are resonating with creativity and vibrant talent. Ritviz is a Pune based DJ and singer rolled into one. He is trained in Hindustani classical music and precisely because of this, his songs are replete with vigorous baselines. Here are some of his best tracks.

Udd Gaye

AIB has does it again! And this time they have done it in collaboration with Ritviz. Udd Gaye is their house party anthem and once you listen to it you will play it on loop. In fact, you wouldn’t need anything to get high to. The song is so trippy and psychedelic, it gives you a happy high. The peppy electronic beats, the amazing baselines are all you need for a house party. The song starts like, “Hum toh udd gaye jab tum jhuke. Tab se hum nazar mein aa ruke”. The lyrics are penned by Ritviz, who has also sung a part in this. It is far different from the other house music we are accustomed to, it’s mellow and happy.

Yuv

This is a track from his second EP also titled YUV, that has also won the 2nd place among the top 10 in Shazam list in 2016. He says it is very important to him as it defines his individuality as an artist while he is holding on to traditions. This EP contains four tracks – Bali, Taan, Jiti and Yuv.

This is perhaps a really underrated mix by Ritviz. If you are going to party hard tonight, don’t forget to include this in your playlist. This relies heavily on instruments mostly electronic. The thumping baselines will give you goosebumps and the influence of eastern classical comes to the fore in this. Oscillating between psychedelic and pop, this is one of the best by Ritviz.

Mukti

This is another of Ritviz’s cannon of versatile arrangements fusing contemporary funky beats and the very intriguing yet conventional Hindustani bass. Must give it a listen if you haven’t already.
