This is a song that have strum the chords of the hearts of everyone alike. It’s like the love anthem for all the young lovers out there. Taken from the album “Deewana” it’s a profound ode to love. The album was released in 1999 and became an immediate success, mainly because of this soft, mellow and immensely romantic track.

Another gem of a song from this album. The idea of romanticizing a vespa ride with a lover along the sea beach was popularized by this video long before cinema did it. If you haven’t grooved along with this song coming straight from the heart of a passionate lover, what have you even done? Listening to this one will be nostalgic, if not anything else.
Tere Milna Pal Do Pal Ka From Jaan (Album)
This was another favorite from the album ‘jaan”. What makes it even more better is the fact that Bipasha Basu features in this one along with Sonu Nigam himself. The sultry diva makes this track incredibly sensuous.
Chanda Ki Doli From Chanda Ki Doli (Album)
Reminiscing over old lovers and what could have been is as old as Greek civilization. The story unfolds in the form of a bedtime tale told to a kid by Sonu Nigam, and we have rooted for that love story ever since. It also talks of the plight of separation and loss. Sonu Nigam is definitely the king of romance and this five minute video is a better love story than Twilight.
Bijuria From Mausam (Album)
This is one of those party anthems that you have to blast at a party, at least back in the 90s. Very different from the kind of songs usually associated with the singer, this will take you to an adventurous ride. Ishita Arun features in this one taken from the album “Mausam”.
Sadly, the album culture is now dead in this country. The only supposedly good songs are the ones from movies and that makes music a much commercialized artform. Getting the album game on point is a tough job but that doesn’t mean we cannot revisit the good old days when a track by Sonu Nigam would make life so much better.
