Zee Studios released the song Vijayi Bhava from their forthcoming film Manikarnika — The Queen of Jhansi that star Kangana Ranaut in the lead as the Queen of Jhansi.

The song opens with visuals of a grand palace that is lit up with diyas, reminding us of the grand Sanjay Bhansali films and his love for diya lit shots of palaces and forts. Vijayi Bhava is the anthem of the film and rightfully so. The song is a very patriotic one and sets the mood for the kind of film it is. “Sankalp Bolke Hum to Nikal Pade Har Dwar Khol ke Gagan Kahe Vijayi Bhava…” says a line in the song giving us the true patriotic feel. Just the kind of song we need to remind us of the sacrifices made by so many people in our country in the past to give us the freedom we enjoy today!

Kangana as the warrior queen looks stunning in her lavish costumes. The song is a visual treat with beautifully coordinated colours, grand sets, authentic costumes, and brilliantly choreographed moves. The song has been choreographed beautifully with visuals of women in Nauvari sarees preparing for war. The lyrics have been soothingly yet strongly given a voice by none other than Shankar Mahadevan. The song also features Danny Denzongpa.

Kangana plays the titular role of the fierce warrior and queen Rani Lakshmibai, a queen who is determined to win the independence of her kingdom. Kangana looks promising in the role of a queen. A role that she has never done before. A lot of money has been spent on this period drama as the film looks grand.

Directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, the film has Amitabh Bachchan’s voice narrates the story. Manikarnika is written by KV Vijayendra Prasad and also stars Ankita Lokhande, Zeeshan Ayyub and Jisshu Sengupta in key roles. The film is expected to hit theatres this Republic Day weekend.
