After all the other types of attachment, now you have yet another – the avoidant attachment. If you’re wondering what this one’s like, and whether it’s you or the person you are dating who has it, maybe the signs will tell.

The Biggest Tell Tale

Of course there may be other signs as well, but the one that can definitely tell you if you’re in a relationship that has an avoidant attachment issue is if one of you is alright to be around but there are not any real signs of attachment.

What Does This Mean?

In a lot of the cases, this could mean that the person with this attachment issue will try to keep himself or herself closed and not reveal their emotions easily. If you are experiencing this, you may not feel comfortable revealing your true feelings to the person you are dating. Then again, if the person you are dating has this issue, you may find it difficult to reach out to them and may not be able to understand what they are really thinking, even when you two are together.

Some More Signs You Could Spot

  • Keep comparing the dating or relationship to being single and why the latter could have been a better idea

  • Keep threatening to leave or talk about how it is not working out and it is better to stop
  • Always try to get attention, to make jealous, worried, or make partner feel ignored – in an attempt to tell the partner that they better give enough attention else the relationship will end

If this sounds like a toxic relationship to you, of course it is. It is important to have a healthy communication and bond, whether you are just dating for fun, or are in a new relationship and trying it out for now. If you feel you or your partner is going through this issue, try to talk and sort it out, and take a call.
