Contrary to popular belief, abusive relationships are not a myth. Abuse comes in different shapes and sizes, it may be physical, verbal or mental. You may be stigmatized into being in one or you may be too meek and submissive to speak against it. But it happens either subtly or explicitly and it happens everywhere. Even celebs are not exempt from this vicious phenomenon. Some have spoken up about it and some have quietly suffered under its catastrophic influence.

Preity has confessed that during their relationship, Ness tried to abuse her and would also use extremely offensive language, that was insulted her in front of her family, friends and colleagues. She has also admitted that she received threats from Ness.
Jiah Khan and Sooraj Pancholi

The Nishabd actress’ suicide stirred worldwide murmurs about her troubled relationship with Sooraj Pancholi. The actor had allegedly killed their child while Jiah was pregnant with it and while it was just a fetus. Some of their conversations were leaked and the sheer gore and violence in the exchanges would make Valentine’s Day such a big farce. You’d feel lucky to be single if you read these conversations. Sooraj Pancholi, however, says Jiah was suicidal and inclined to self harm.
Kangana and Aditya Pancholi

Kangana confessed in the show Aap ki Adalat to having an affair with Aditya Pancholi albeit one that was abusive and violent. She reportedly had said that he would violently beat her although Aditya and his wife, Zarina Wahab have denied such allegations.

Their amazing chemistry in Hum Dil de Chuke Sanam culminated in their affair but according to various reports Salman was overtly possessive, insensitive and insecure. That is not acceptable even when you are dating such a sensation like Aishwarya Rai. His insecurities soon got a voice in the form of physical and verbal abuse. Aishwarya ended the relationship and for her very own good!

They had started dating while he was already married with two kids and their alleged wedlock is no secret. But Sanjay unleashed absolute terror and wrath on Zeenat which manifested in physical abuse. Her marriage with Mazhar Khan was a different kind of abusive relationship- it was turbulent and uncertain because of his being involved with other women.
If this is love then perhaps we are happy without it. These people are far from being in love. They have themselves abused the term.
