All routes to Goa are beautiful. Whether you fly into the state and watch the lush green Western Ghats below, or whether you take the Konkan railways and enter through one of the thickest forest patches and gushing waterfalls. But now you can come to Goa by the more glamorous route, on board the Angriya.

Angriya is touted as India’s first premium cruise, to begin services from 20th October. It will sail every alternate day. It is complete with an infinity pool, rejuvenating spa and breath-taking six decks. All the decks have vast sitting arrangements to enjoy the spectacular sunsets and sunrise on the Arabian Sea. You can also get a foot massage and the express kiosks made available on the decks.

It has 104 rooms of various kind, from pods to suits to dorms to luxury rooms. Ticket prices range from ₹4,300 for a dorm to ₹7,650 for a double room.

It is a seven-storeyed vessel with a rich past. The cruise liner derives its name from Sarkhel Kanhoji Angre, the admiral of the Maratha navy in the 18th Century, and was built in Japan 20 years ago.

The cruise will leave from the Purple Gate of Indira Docks, Mumbai at 4.30 pm, and reach Goa at 9 am on the next day. Angriya ensures you can enjoy the 15-hour journey with lavish high tea, dinner buffet and a breakfast at Coral Reef and Ancora, the two restaurants on board. The food will have a special focus on Konkan cuisine and will also offer global dishes.
