The Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade in New York has been made famous in some of the Hollywood films. It’s a famous event with massive balloons, floats, people in costumes, massive balloons, and marching bands. Once you are done watching the colorful parade, you can head for some great Thanksgiving food at the Bowery Meat Company or Artisanal Bistro.
Williamsburg, Virginia

Colonial Williamsburg is beautiful and interesting with an old world charm. It’s a pleasure to walk the streets and take a look at the old stores, wig-making shops, candlelit taverns etc. It takes you back in time, while many restaurants in Colonial Williamsburg, serve harvest dinners.

Chicago hosts the McDonald’s Thanksgiving Parade with marching bands and giant floats. Visitors can visit the largest German Christmas market, Christkindlmarket, and also take part in a turkey trot beside feasting at a line up of restaurants. One can even go all out shopping at the Black Friday sales!

Plymouth, Massachusetts

It’s a great time to explore the Mayflower II and Wampanoag Homesite. The town of Plymouth, less than an hour from Boston, hosts a weekend-long celebration where they have a farmer’s market, a parade, a food festival and live entertainment etc. You can even attend a traditional Thanksgiving dinner and binge on roast turkey with traditional stuffing.
