You would have to look twice everywhere

The famous Greek painter Zeuxis once painted a boy with a bunch of grapes in his hand. The grapes looked so real that a few birds came and pecked at them. The talented painter was extremely dissatisfied with this painting. He was upset that his skills failed to paint the boy well enough. If the boy was painted with adept skill, the birds would not have the valour to come near the boy.

The 3D trick art museum opened in Chennai will give you similar visual illusions. It is India’s first 3D art museum. While the arts are all 2D in nature, the paints and strokes, give the illusion of a 3D image, bringing the subjects of the paintings to life. This kind of art to trick the eye is known as ‘Tompe-l’oeil’. The French term means ‘deceive the eye’. The museum has become popular among the people, as they can go and take creative selfies or photos with the art displayed there. The concept behind the museum is to make it an interactive place where people can do something more than they would do in a regular house of artefacts. There are only 12 countries in the world that has such interactive museums for people.

What to expect?

Expect some crazy and quirky paintings in the museum. There maybe many that will leave you in disbelief but be assured that they are nothing but paintings. Get your creative side out and take loads of pictures along with the paintings to tell a story without words. I would suggest that you go to the place with family, or a group of friends so that you can take lot of interesting photos.
