If you need more reasons to visit the Plitvice Lakes, not only will you find many gorgeous lakes here that are of different colours, but another interesting thing is that each one of these lakes changes its colours too! As you walk in the park on the wooden tracks by the lake, you will be able to see this stunning change in colours in the lakes. From bright emerald to deep blue, to sea green to faded grey, you’ll be amazed how the colours in the water shift! And if you’re wondering how this is possible, it is actually because of the minerals and organisms that are present in the lake. Once the sun hits the water at certain angles, it brings about this change in colour.

How To Reach

Take a bus to the Plitvice Lakes National Park from Zagreb. It will take you about 2.5 hours to reach your destination. And if you’re looking for some Instagram worthy pics, make sure to get some clicks from the highest point of the park – Seliski Vrh (4,196 ft).

Apart from the gorgeous lakes, you can also spot different wild animals and birds. Don’t get startled if a deer just happens to appear in front of you! Chances are you wouldn’t want to ever come back from this surreal place, so make sure you take someone along to get you back home!
