All of us know Goa as the destination of sun and sand. And this state really comes to life at the year end. Many travellers throng the beaches and get intoxicated in the magical airs that make New Year eve really special in Goa. But now, there is one more very strong reason to visit Goa in the third week of December.

The capital city turns into an open air theatre and museum. Panjim hosts the Serendipity Art Festival from 15th to 22nd December, 2018. It is India’s largest multidisciplinary arts festival, bringing a power-packed schedule of performances, workshops and experiences over 8 days. The whole city turns into a stage, with some or the other events being held across 10 venues.

If you are an early riser who likes to be with nature, then the ecological walks organised by The Travelling Dome, taking you to springs, creeks and secluded beaches. Then you can walk over to the old GMC building, which hosts some unique culinary workshops. It will also include a workshop on #Foodstagram.

There are free shuttles organised to go from one venue to the next. You have to register for free at one of the venues, and then you can hop on and hop off at any of the exhibit sites. Make sure to keep an eye on the streets to not miss out murals or street arts works done by St+art India Foundation. One can also witness unique folk, tribal and classical art forms of our country.

After spending a couple of hours at these mesmerising performances take a stroll down to the Adil Shah Palace which is Panaji’s oldest surviving building. The grand building is decked up with art installation. The corridors turn into an enchanting labyrinth, and each room wears a different ambience to go with the art installation. The palace will be brimming with visual arts, craft and photography exhibitions, exploring the heritage of our country along with contemporary art practices, amongst others.

You can end the day at DB ground, where some or the other popular bands will be performing to a great audience.
