Located in the Shevaroys range of hills in Tamil Nadu, Yercaud is a pretty lake. It is also a great destination for trekkers. Yercaud is rich in endemic species of wildlife including bison, sambardeer, spotteddeer, anteater, civets, giant squirrels, and many reptiles including the endemic ones.

You can also get a panoramic view of the ghats surrounding the lake from the site known as Lady’s Seat. A ride in a Toyota Hilux in the estate plantations against the scenic backdrops is a must do for travellers.
You can also take a bike ride along the Loop Road, a 32 km long stretch, which passes through few villages, and is great to get the local taste of the region. The Shevaroy temple, perched on a hill, is also an idyllic setting to enjoy the view, whilst you immerse yourself in the local culture.
