The Gaiety theater in Mumbai might be used to all the seetis and taalis from the audience during the screening of films, but we bet they haven’t seen the fans go hysterical the way they did, when Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan entered the theater, to launch the ‘First Class’ song from their upcoming film Kalank. Besides entertaining the audience with the foot tapping song ‘First Class’, where Varun has danced with a thousand dancers for the first time, Alia and Varun also proved how they always have each others backs during this launch.
The fans couldn’t stop screaming, clapping, and whistling with joy when Alia and Varun, both dressed in black, walked into the theater. Varun had to request the fans to be quiet so that he could share something with them. While the fans expected him to share something about the song, Varun surprised his fans by announcing that this was the first time Alia had walked into the Gaiety theater and everyone should welcome her with taalis and seetis in true Gaiety style!
Alia quickly tried to bring the focus back to Varun and his song ‘First Class’, and told the fans that this was the first shooting schedule of Kalank. She said, “This was the song we started the shoot of Kalank with, I went to the set to give him my Aasirhwaad! I can guarantee you that just like the ‘First Class’ song, the film too started and was completed on a first class note, thanks to Varun!”
While Varun thanked Alia he also proudly told the audience how Alia has become a big star today. “I always thank Alia for working with me because she’s become such a big star now,” added Varun.
The fans were in for a surprise when Alia asked Varun to dance and she went “Zafar! Zafar!,” Varun happily obliged and danced to ‘First Class’ and Alia joined him in the dance doing the ‘First Class’ steps along with him.
While it was Varun’s moment in the limelight, since he was there to release his song ‘First Class’, he made it a point to promote Alia’s ‘Ghar More Pardesiya’ too. “We are here to release and promote ‘First Class’ but Alia’s song ‘Ghar More Pardesiya’, was released first and I feel Alia has given her best performance ever in a song,” Varun told the audience. He even added that Alia had never performed live or rehearsed for the song before this live performance.
Alia did a stunning impromptu kathak performance on the song, while Varun looked on proudly! He then told the audience that it had been a while since Alia and he danced or went for an event together. “ I was actually missing this,” said Varun, to which Alia quickly added, “I missed this too.”
The audience, but obviously, went awww…..
