Director Mahesh Bhatt’s daughter Pooja Bhatt started as an actress and delivered some hits like Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahi and Sadak. She acted in films for less than two decades and did 30 films in that span. Later on, Pooja followed her father’s footsteps and turned into a director. Till date, Pooja Bhatt has directed 5 films- Paap (2003), Holiday (2006), Dokha(2007), Kajraare(2010) and Jism 2 (2012); but couldn’t impress the audience and critics.

A longtime actress Revathy who worked in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Hindi cinema, and proved her extraordinary talent by directing a movie in 2002 called Mitr, My Friend and the story goes by narrating a complicated relationship between man and woman which won a National Film Award for the best feature film in English that year. She has directed movies, like Phir Milenge, Kerala Café and more. Revathy was last seen acting in the 2 states.

Nandita Das has acted in various films but she is still remembered for her movies like Fire, Earth, and Firaaq. Her first debut directional is Firaaq which was a toast at the International Festival. The movie revolves around the true incident which is known as Gujarat Massacre in 2002. Her upcoming movie ‘Manto’ seems to explore the life of Saadat Hasan Manto-a greatest short story writer, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Nandita Das attended Cannes as a jury member.
