Rahul Dholakia after his successful direction with Raees starring Shah Rukh Khan, has teamed up with the producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar to begin a film on a Mumbai based firefighter.

Hence this film is an action-thriller which will be about a firefighter from Mumbai. Raees had been an action oriented film as well but its dimension was very different and the audience was able to see the superstar in a dynamic role play. The director of the film, Dholakia says that rarely have films in Bollywood been made about fire. Exception being Ravi Chopra’s Burning Train, the industry hasn’t explored the unfortunate incidents which have taken place due to fire much.

This film is not a biopic but shall be based on a Mumbai based firefighter. Revolving around the life of Tukaram and how he inspires his team to respond to SOS calls. This film promises its audience a message along with showcasing lost set of heroes. What inspired Rahul to direct such a storyline and choosing this among many was the fact that in the last few years he has seen considerable number of fire situations in the country. He also goes on to emphasize that the importance of firefighters is same as that of police and the soldiers. But they have never been given the kind of importance that they have always deserved. He wants to do just that through this film of his. The film is slated to go on floors next year and as pointed out by the director will have a lot of scope for visual drama, and emotions. Farhan Akhtar has also contributed greatly to the script and Ritesh has been a great producer, as interviews point out.

Rahul Dholakia has always been interested in firefighters from early childhood. Hence this film plot should not come as surprise to those who have known him for a while. He has also been on a few trails with Randeep Hooda who is the ambassador of Mumbai Fire Brigade. Vijay Maurya has collaborated with Rahul on the dialogues for the film.
This film has definitely not zeroed downed to a release date as it hasn’t hit the floor yet. We can definitely hope a very different kind of a film with Farhan and Priyanka with this one. Bollywood does need films like these with impactful plots and different dynamics. The role of firefighters have rarely been portrayed on silver screen in regards to their immense contribution in times of extreme crisis. Looking forward to the film.
