Guess Who Sara Ali Khan Would Love To Work With In The Remake Of Chameli Ki Shaadi?

Watch out for Sara Ali Khan the next big superstar!

This young lady is a livewire! It’s a joy to interview her because you can go on listening to her speak. She’s brutally honest, very real, laughs her heart out when she feels like it and there’s absolutely no pretending, she’s just her goofy self. That’s exactly what I loved about Sara Ali Khan. I’ve interviewed so many debutants before her but interviewing Sara has been a pleasure. There’s a sense of comfort around her.

She’s proved herself as an actress in her very first film and everyone’s been raving about how good she was in the film. She has also proved nepotism wrong and when I mention this she says, “Someone told me that I’m finally glad for nepotism if we’ve brought Sara here. If people love my work then its great and that too amidst such heavy words like nepotism then it’s even greater.”

She continues, “I agree that nepotism does exist and all those people who say it’s not there are lying because it is the truth. It does exist for everyone to see but you have to finally realise that somewhere down the line people do hold it against you, and if you can silence that with your work, then I don’t think there is a bigger satisfaction than that.” We couldn’t agree more.

Sara has an uncanny resemblance to her mother Amrita Singh especially the way she looked in her debut film Betaab. When asked about the comparison, Sara says, “Comparisons to mom visually are inevitable and if I am being compared to her as far my work goes then I take that as a huge compliment and I find that thoroughly humbling because I look up to mom as a human being and as an actor. It’s a beautiful thing for me to hear.

Kedarnath has opened to mixed reviews, while some people have loved the film, there are some who didn’t appreciate the film. However, even the ones who have been writing the film off have appreciated Sara’s work in the film. Speaking about how she feels about it Sara says, “When it comes to the reviews Id like to say that Kedarnath is the love of my life, I am passionate about it. So when people are not being nice about my film, it hurts and I can’t pretend that it doesn’t but when I am being appreciated for it I feel grateful. I feel that I am attached to Kedarnath and it would mean a lot to me if everyone were to love Kedarnath. Having said that as an actor and a debutant one I should know my ‘aukad’ or should know what I am capable of. As an actor, I can only act and give my best to it, but I cannot write the film, make the film or shoot the film. I can only do what I am good at and I feel I have done a good job and that’s why people have loved me but at the end of the day, I feel sad that there are some people who are tearing down the film. So it’s a bittersweet feeling.”

When I tell her I love how she is so honest and real and I ask her who she imbibes this quality from, Sara laughs and says, “I get it from both  my parents I think, but the truth is that I just have to be real because if I am not I’ll get caught. You have to be just yourself. Your job is to act but if you have to act in real life too then that is no fun!” Now you know why I like this girl, don’t you?

Sara Ali Khan loves her mom’s film Chameli Ki Shaadi

Speaking about one of the best things that have happened in her life because of Kedarnath Sara says, “I felt really good when my dadi messaged my mom to tell her she had raised me well, because mom and dadi are not really in touch, but when you do something nice and my dadi, my father, my mother are all connecting with each other over and above anything else and they are all coming together to be there for me, is the most important moment of my life and I am very grateful for that.”

When I ask her which is that one film of her mom’s she’d love to be in, without a second thought she says, “I would love to be in Chameli Ki Shaadi,” and then grins her impish grin and adds, “I’d love to be in the remake of Chameli Ki Shaadi along with Varun Dhawan.”

Well, I’d really love that too, because Chameli Ki Shaadi was such an entertaining film and who better than Sara and Varun to fit the roles in a remake? And maybe David Dhawan directing it would be an icing on the cake. What say, guys?
