It seems like Bollywood will never have enough of the saga of remakes. We have had numerous remakes of classic Hindi movies, and even though none of the remakes managed to live up to the expectations of the audience, the movie buffs still make it a point to indulge themselves in all the remakes that B town has to offer. This trend will never get old and we do hope that a day comes when the remakes are as good as or even better than the original ones. But, till that happens, Bollywood has got to try and the lovers of Bollywood have to keep up.

All those who belong to the golden era of the 90s will be familiar with the “Number One” franchise of our very own Govinda. He gave us hits after hits like Hero No. 1, Anari No. 1, Aunty No. 1, Beti No. 1, Jodi No. 1 and of course, Coolie No. 1. Coolie No. 1 was a hit comedy movie, helmed by one of the greatest directors of the 90s, David Dhawan, and it starred Govinda as the coolie and Karisma Kapoor as the lead actress. The movie was released in 1995 and we were left in splits with Govinda’s impeccable dialogue delivery and the whacky comedy scenes.
It has been twenty four years, the era came to an end, and at the end of an era, we have a remake of this great comedy movie. This remake of Coolie No. 1 will star David Dhawan’s son, the rising star of B town, Varun Dhawan, who has achieved quite some fame in a very short span of time. Apart from starring in amazing movies like Badlapur, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, and Badrinath Ki Dulhania, Varun Dhawan very recently starred in another remake also. He did a great job in Judwaa 2, which was a remake of another movie of the 90s, Judwa, which had Salman Khan in a double role. So, Coolie No. 1 will not be his first remake.

All said and done, there had been some speculations about who will star opposite the new coolie of B town. The suspense is finally over, and we are delighted to inform you that none other than the new star kid of B town, Sara Ali Khan will be starring opposite Varun Dhawan in Coolie No. 1. Sara Ali Khan’s journey in Bollywood has seen a commendable rise to success. She started off with Kedarnath and now she is already two films old, the second being Simmba, with Ranveer Singh. The remake of Coolie No. 1 will see Sara Ali Khan walk into the shoes of the very beautiful, Karisma Kapoor. Although this new version of Coolie No. 1 will not exactly be a remake but an adaptation of the old movie, we are sure that Sara Ali Khan will do justice to her role.
We all remember tapping our feet to the iconic song of the movie “Husn Hai Suhana”, and we are eagerly waiting to catch a glimpse of the classic old songs in the new movie. We are sure the magic will be recreated and Varun Dhawan will emerge as one of the greatest stars in the genre of comedy.
