Fans of Ajay Devgn were overwhelmed with delight when about a year ago the superstar revealed the first look of his new project, “Taanaji-The Unsung Warrior”. The movie is based on the real life story of Subedar Taanaji Malusare, a historical figure who was a mighty Marathi warrior. He fought for his motherland and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Directed by Om Raut, the period piece will primarily focus on the glory of this warrior and recreate selective parts of the glorious Maratha history. The movie is still in its pre-production process and no final announcement of the cast has been made as of yet. But if reports are to be believed, the movie will have an ensemble cast and the role of Taanaji’s wife is to be played by none other than Kajol.

Rumor has it that Kajol has already heard about the part and her initial reaction has been positive towards it. Even though the movie is essentially a war film, it will also touch upon the equation shared by Taanaji and his wife. Kajol seems to be a perfect match for the role and apart from the fact the chemistry between her and husband Ajay is already very organic and we need not elaborate on that part, do we? Moreover, her Marathi dialect compliments the requirements of the character as well.

The couple was last seen in U Me Aur Hum and their chemistry was brilliant as ever

The project is still in its paperwork and planning phase. However, as per reports some locations have already been finalized by the makers and even a few sets have already started being made. If the speculations turn out to be true, the real life husband-wife duo will be sharing the same screen after almost ten years, their last movie together having been U, Me Aur Hum that had released back in 2008. Well, needless to say, the fans will be eagerly waiting for this celluloid reunion, as well as for the prospect of getting to watch another splendid period piece, a recent favorite genre of Indian movie makers and movie goers alike.
