First it was Yash Chopra’s films that made Switzerland a famous tourist destination, then ever since the film, 3 Idiots released, Leh and Ladakh has seen a huge increase in the number of tourists visiting every holiday season.
The climax scene of the film was shot in this scenic place. Not only that, the character of Phunsukh Wangdu ,played by Aamir Khan, in the film was inspired by Sonam Wangchuk, a local from Leh, who is an engineer. Though the film released in 2009, it hasn’t been forgotten because of the brilliant message the film conveyed about our education system.
The film has been in the news time and again and this time, it is the yellow scooty which Kareena Kapoor used in the climax scene of the film, that’s making news. The climax scene sees Kareena, dressed as a bride riding a scooty and this scene has apparently inspired a photo point for tourists who visit Leh.
A similar looking scooter has been placed on the shores of the Pangong Tso Lake, where tourists can click a photo resembling the actor’s scene in the film. Tourists are also offered a costume similar to the one Kareena wears in the film all for the price of 5o rupees
The tourist spot has been also been named ‘Kareena Scooty’.The fun part is Kareena Kapoor who is seen riding the scooty on screen, does not know how to ride the scooty in real life.
