Bollywood probably wouldn’t be the same without its villains. That being said, villains occupy a very special status starting from Gabbar through Mogambo to Makdee or Baa from Ramleela. Prakash Raj is one such person who leaves a mark. He is one of those badass villains who still gives us the creeps. He is versatile and fluent in a number if languages. His contributions to the South Indian film industry remain unmatched. Yet, his negative roles in Hindi cinema are just as enigmatic.

As he turns 53 today, here are a few examples of his memorable performances in negative role:

1. Jaykant Shikre In Singham (2011)

Who can ever forget Prakash raj’s scintillating performance in this movie? Jaykant Shikre is one of those characters whose thrust is dynamic. The dialogue “ata majhi satakli” was in fact, popularized by him. And people aren’t likely to forget it anytime soon.

2. Thakur Bachcha In Dabangg 2 (2012)

This sequel to the earlier super hit Dabangg stars Prakash Raj as the antagonist instead of Sonu Sood. He plays the role of Bachcha, a local don who also happens to be a struggling politician. He plays run and chase with the police officer – Chulbul Pandey (Salman Khan) and his role in the movie was much praised and celebrated.

3. Chaudhary In Heropanti (2014)

In this remake of the Telugu movie Parugu Prakash Raj plays the role of an angry father Chaudhury who also happens to be a strict disciplinarian in the village as he is the patriarch of a Jatt family hailing from Haryana. Hell breaks loose when his daughter decides to elope with her boyfriend.

4. Karan In Entertainment (2014)

His role with Sonu Sood, though negative, was rather comic in the movie

Prakash Raj plays the role of Karan one of the two brothers (the other being Arjun) who are keen on killing the protagonist – Akhil played by Akshay Kumar. They are inmates who escaped jail. Although he plays a supporting role in this movie but his performance was surely one of his very best.

5. Vasu Reddy In Golmaal Again (2017)

Prakash Raj was the latest installation in this franchise which is undoubtedly one of the best comedies. He is Vasu Reddy, a businessman, and his role definitely attributed a dark undertone to the otherwise funny movie. Although he isn’t a typical badass villain here, he is an entertainment character who has certain shades of grey in him.
