He plays the role of the most inhuman dominating ruler amongst all Mughals, Alauddin Khilji. Enacting Khilji himself is a big task in itself. The level of hatred, cruelty, dominance, angst Khilji had even Ranveer needs to portray in his role so in order to give it a total justice he changed his entire look and pumped up his body.

Meanwhile, in Gully Boy, Ranveer portrays role of a slum-dweller born boy who turned into a rapper. This is completely new genre for Ranveer as he has never done a biopic before. He had to lose all that bulk and weight her had gained for Padmaavat in order to look the part in Gully Boy.

He made his debut in 2010 in the movie Band Baaja Baarat, with Anushka Sharma, after there was no looking back. He even received the Best Male Debut Award for the same. Later he went on to try his hand at different characters by choosing movies like Ladies V/S Ricky Bahl, Lootera, RamLeela, Gunday, Dil Dhadakne Do, Bajirao Mastani, Befikre, and now Padmavat. All of these movies, showed him in a different light. He has completely transformed as an actor from his debut film and this transformation only seems to be getting better!

If Ladies v/s Ricky Bahl and Befikre showed his flirty side, then Lootera was completely different, and same goes for other movies of his. What is unique about Ranveer is that he isn’t afraid of trying out new characters.

All his fans are now eagerly waiting to watch Ranveer as Alauddin Khilji in Padmaavat.
