Ok…Don’t get your imaginations running wild! (Dirty minds!) But now that I have your attention, Yes, these celebrities gave some serious romance goals recently, when they actually went down on their knees to make sure their significant other, walked comfortably, without tripping!

Remember how the internet went into a frenzy, when the shy and romantic Anand Ahuja, was captured tying his actor wife Sonam Kapoor’s shoe lace? While some went awwww….trollers as usual, did what they do best ; trolled.

This was followed by Ranveer Singh, holding on to his wife and actor, Deepika Padukone’s sandals, during a wedding. Deepika could be seen greeting people, while Ranveer is seen making sure that his wife is comfortable, by holding her sandals for her. This time too people ‘awwwed’ and ‘oohed’, while some aunties raised eyebrows and exclaimed “Kya zamana aa gaya!” AND trollers of course were back to work once again!

The popular TV star, Ravi Dubey too made headlines when he was spotted kneeling down to tie his wife, Sargun Mehta’s shoelace, while on a holiday in Sri Lanka. The headlines read something like this : “Ravi Dubey ties his wife’s shoe laces! “ and “Popular Indian actor, Ravi Dubey, spotted tying his wife’s shoe lace.”

While people were making such a big deal about it, what was commendable was how these celebrities were oblivious of their status and surroundings and the comments and trolling that would follow, they just did what they felt was right at that moment, without being self-conscious about carrying out this sweet gesture even in such crowded places.

If any of you have watched the Korean drama series; Descendants of the Sun, you will know what I am talking about, when I say that these images of the celebrities reminded me of my favorite scene from the series, where the female lead, Mo-yeon is wearing fancy dress shoes with heels, while she goes helping injured people after the devastating earthquake. Her feet start bleeding as she goes around helping people. A man notices her bleeding feet, and offers her his boots to wear, so she can continue to help others comfortably. She accepts the shoes and after helping some more people, she’s exhausted but she notices her shoelaces are loose, so she leans down to tie them, as she does that, the male lead, Yoo Shi-jin appears, and ties them for her. It’s a beautiful romantic moment, with no words exchanged but so much said. The series is all about selfless love, the kind of love that has become a rare quality today.

It’s nice to see these celebrities enjoy such simple romantic moments. They prove, that love is all about what you do to make someone else happy. It’s not only about the big moments or the attraction, but little moments and gestures like these that makes love special.

It’s not like they can’t tie their own shoe laces, or carry their own sandals, or for that matter open their own doors, but that also does not mean that he/she cannot be shown that they are loved. What’s wrong in serving each other or helping each other in small ways? Even if it’s just tying their shoelaces, didn’t Mr. Big propose Carrie with this beautiful blue Manolo Blahnik, in Sex and The City, and help her wear them too?

These celebs also prove that it’s not always about elaborate escapades but the small simple romantic gestures that keep the love alive. And ya, if a man notices that a girl’s shoelace has come loose, the most chivalrous thing to do is to kneel on one leg and tie them for her!

For all those trollers and others who don’t agree, I’d like to share a quote by Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and The City, “Hi! I’m not here right now, but my shoes are, so leave them a message!”
