From its very inception, Ranveer Singh starrer ’83, the upcoming biopic on legendary Indian cricketer and former Indian cricket team captain, Kapil Dev has been grabbing a lot of attention. As it is, Ranveer Singh has created for himself such a place in the B-town, that every project that involves him, is of utmost interest to the audiences and critics alike. However, the recent news that is about to raise the interest of this project is not about Ranveer, but about his co-star Chirag Patil.

So, who is this Chirag Patil and what has he to do with the movie you may ask. Well, Chirag Patil, a Marathi actor, also happens to be the son of former Indian cricketer Sandeep Patil and interestingly, he will be playing the role of his own father in this movie.

The ‘83 World Cup is a matter of great sentiment among every Indian cricket lover and hence this Kabir Khan directed movie is attracting the interest of thousands of audience. The cricketers who played extraordinarily in the team speak about how proud they are to be a part of it and it was a long awaited dream coming true for the entire nation.

Chirag Patil has reportedly shared how he is immensely thrilled to play his own father’s role in the movie and that he as perhaps a first to do so. Chirag’s father, Sandeep Patil was an important member of the 1983 cricket team and more remembered because he had played with broken ribs and also able to hit the three sixes in the match. Sandeepis reportedly too proud of his son for being a part of such a great production and working with eminent director, Kabir Khan. The movie is expected to be shot in the actual location where the world cup was held.

Chirag Patil recently posted on Instagram a letter from his father, talking about how he believes in his son and would rather have him than anyone else playing his role in the movie. He was thrilled when his son gave him the good news. The cricketer says how he has taught his son his signature shots and believes that with hard work and talent Chirag will be able to put up a successful act in the movie.
