All of us are totally aware of the huge revolution that has come over in the telecommunications industry in the past couple of decades. From the big fat land phones to the sleek and stylish smartphones and gadgets, we have really come a long way. Today being the World Telecommunications Day, few young people shared their views and opinions with HotFridayTalks.com, regarding this change and how they are enjoying it.

Aheli believes, the world has come closer with telecom now

Aheli Ray Chaudhury says, “The marked change that telecommunication has brought in your lives is definitely good for us, technology has helped mankind to turn many stones. We have actually breached the gap between ourselves and the world is now closer. But again, every good thing has a negative effect, every pro has a con. We as humans may have evolved, but humanity on the whole has not.”

Sourav, who is a final year Engineering student, feels telecom now is a boon

Sourav Pachal feels, “Something that the mass can afford is obviously a welcome change. This is a change much needed for a better future. We get to know about the well being of our beloved through very affordable means with the help of minimal call rates. I don’t really see any negative side of this”

Anwesha feels the telecom revolution makes it easy for us to cnnect to the entire world

“Change is the only constant and this is the driving force behind every aspect of life. Therefore revolution plays a vital role. Due to the revolution of telecommunications, the connection between the people all over the world could be established. If it weren’t for this revolution in telecom, then we would still have been unknown of the whereabouts of people throughout the world. Or maybe would have still used strings and cups to draw the connection around the world. But because of this revolution, just like the Charlie Puth song, we are just “one call away” from communicating with our loved ones and connecting to the entire world” says Anwesha Chakraborty

Nishanth thinks the advantages of connectivity through telecom is manifold

Nishanth Krishnan says, “It truly is a welcome change. The world is more connected than ever and therefore people can afford to share resources with each other in an unprecedented way and while it may have its negatives they are still miniscule when compared to the tremendous advantages of connectivity.”

Krishnendu believes the revolution has definitely come as an advantage

“You might say that every invention in the field of science comes with both possibilities. But this has come with a lot if advantages. Awareness of a person’s whereabouts is something that I find a major priority in every human’s life. My mother, always so concerned, will probably suffer from blood sugar depreciation if she is not aware of my whereabouts every 6 hours. Anyway, coming to the point where it isn’t really an advantage, is the upcoming generation that stays glued to new age technologies and opts out of a more natural set up to explore life” says Krishnendu Biswas.

So, there you go the happy youth with the revolutionary changes in telecom today. However, it is a good thing that they understand the negatives too. Happy World Telecommunications Day to all!
