Akasa Singh, best known for having sung the peppy Kheech Meri Photo song, has a huge release lined up for tomorrow. Her new pop single titled Thug Ranjha will be launched by none other than Sony Music India. Akasa herself will be starring in the music video, along with Shashvat Sethi and Paresh Pahuja of Tiger Zinda Hai fame.
Some details about Thug Ranjha have already been revealed by the makers though. Its title refers to those men who con girls by professing fake love. It has been written by Vayu Srivastava who is known for having recently penned tracks for Tumhari Sulu. Swedish artist Erik Lewander is also onboard as the producer of this track.
Thug Ranjha will be an upbeat party track which has been “created for this generation” according to Akasa. Apart from Kheech Meri Photo, Akasa’s recent claim to fame was the Amazon Prime original show, The Remix. This unique show was judged by Sunidhi Chauhan, Amit Trivedi and Nucleya and paired singers with music producers, who together made songs in various genres.

Akasa proved her talent quite extensively there, and announced to the world that she is ready to enter the mainstream. Her upcoming projects are a mystery, but we won’t be surprised to see her singing more Bollywood numbers in the months to come.
The song has received special message from pop icon Mika who was a mentor for Akasa during her early days in the industry. “It is an insanely energetic track that will connect with the youth. Also, the song is so Akasa, she really has no time for Thug Ranjhas” he has said.
Coming to the music video, model Shashvat Sethi and Paresh Pahuja have been confirmed to be part of it. No further details about the video are available till now.
However, those looking forward to the release of Thug Ranjha won’t have to wait for long, as the song is scheduled to hit Sony Music India’s official YouTube channel tomorrow.
