Did You know about this hidden beach in Goa!

Goa, well the name is enough to fill you with excitement and thrill. With surreal beaches, magical sunsets and beautiful houses under the coconut trees you will be spellbound for the rest of your life. It’s just a happy feeling when your friends come to you and say “ Let’s Go Goa” Also someone rightly said, “ The best kind of therapy is beach therapy and Goa is the real therapy land which heals you magically”.

02.05.18, It was our 60th day of Roamanchak Journey after covering all the states of the north-east and south-east. We both always have a very special space in our hearts for Goa and when we reached it was all about which part of Goa to explore and how? We reached Palelom beach, which was again Priyanka’s favourite beach and we started discussing where to go next and which part to explore? Long back one of our friends suggested about Butterfly Beach near Palolem. Butterfly beach is a petit beach in south Goa and lies near Palolem Beach. It is a small cove surrounded by dense forest and is a beautiful spot for nature lovers. The beach is named so because the surrounding trees attract a variety of butterflies occasionally.

We started figuring out how to reach there. Apparently, there is a ferry which takes everyone to a set itinerary and Butterfly beach was the part of that itinerary – told by one of the traveller we met at Palolem beach. We enquired about it and turned up it will cost us 2000/person for a ride where fishing is also going to happen as a part of the itinerary. But we preferred not to chose that because of less time and budget constraints.
We searched butterfly beach on google map and found out a different route for this beach. We hired a bike for 250 bucks and fuelled it with petrol of 100 bucks. We started from the hostel at 11:00 am and followed the google map. Half of the way was very smooth, but the reality of kachha road (Dirt Road) hit us when we took leave from the main road and passed by Leopard Valley club. We drove through dense forest and through very narrow roads. Travel is always fun when roads are exciting and this one surely took our breath away. Beyond a point, you can’t take your two-wheelers ahead and you have to walk a little about 300-500 meters through that forest.

Getting lost in the horizon

Once we reached Butterfly beach, it was a whole other world. Enclosed by a thick forest on one side and leading to the open sea on the other, this beach was like a dream destination for any traveller with a unique landscape. It was just as pretty as a colourful butterfly and picturesque view of sunset left us with no words. We spend a good amount of time at the beach and then packed our cameras to hit the roads again.

Mesmerising emerald green water, Butterfly Beach

This beach is one of the best options for anyone who like clean, quiet and not crowded beaches. This makes for a wonderful opportunity to go trekking through a forest too! Walking through greenery and fresh air will be a relaxing experience. This place is definitely a huge attraction for photographers and for couples as well for the most wonderful romantic getaway.

We were more than happy to explore this place in our way where we just spend 350 bucks for one heavily experience.

Then we moved from Goa to Hampi for our next Roamanchak experience
