Whenever I am sick or in the mood for a nice meal I prefer khichdi. A homemade bowl of traditional khichdi without any hint of strong spices has a rejuvenating effect. The delicious one-pot dish has an amazing taste of rice and lentils cooked together till all mushy and squishy.

The seasoning of ghee on the top adds more warmth and flavor to it. You just can’t hate it. The best part is that it can be made in numerous ways, let’s find a few. You must try these ideas to make different types of khichdis.

Fada Ni Khichdi

This is a quite wholesome Khichdi which a little different from regular rice and lentil combination. Instead, broken wheat (fada) is used for making this dish along with yellow moong dal. The dish can be made more nutritious by adding vegetables and spicing it up for the masala lovers.
