All You Need To Know About Laxmivilas Rasa

Laxmivilas Rasa is a herbo-mineral Ayurvedic preparation that is categorized under the branch of Rasashastra in Ayurvedic medicine. It is either available in tablet or powder form. Ingredients

  • 10 g fine powder of each of
  • Abhraka Bhasma – Purified and processed Mica
  • Shuddha Parada – Herbal purified Mercury
  • Shuddha Gandhaka – Herbal purified Sulphur
  • Karpoora – Camphor – Cinnamomum camphora
  • Jatiphala – Nutmeg (fruit) – Myristica fragrans
  • Jatikosha – Nutmeg
  • Vriddhadaru – Argyrea speciosa
  • Dhattura – Datura metel
  • Bhanga – Cannabis sativa
  • Vidari – Pueraria tuberose

  • Shatavari – Asparagus racemosus root
  • Nagabala – Grewia populifolia
  • Atibala – Abutilon indicum
  • Gokshura – Small caltrops (whole plant) – Tribulus terrestris Linn.
  • Nichula – Strychnos nux vomica
  • Nagavalli – Piper betel – juice extract – quantity sufficient.
  • Fine powder ingredients are triturated with each liquid for three days, paste is prepared, and tablets are made.

Effect on Doshas

According to the principles of Ayurveda, this formulation is said to balance the disturbed Vata, Pitta and Kapha dosha in the body. Because of its calming effect on all the three doshas, it is a very widely used medicine in the treatment of acute and chronic disorders.

Dosage

250 mg once in the morning, before or after food or as directed by physician. It is advisable to be administered with buttermilk, milk, curd and fruit juices.

Laxmivilas Rasa is considered as a “Rasayana” (rejuvenating) that nourishes all the dhatus of the body thereby increasing the strength, vigor and essence (Ojus) of the dhatus. It is a potent natural aphrodisiac, spermatogenic and upon prolonged consumption, it increases the Rakta (blood) dhatu.

It is widely used by Ayurvedic practitioners for treating a wide range of fevers, various types of diabetes and skin-related disorders. It boosts the functioning of the heart and provides strength to the cardiac muscles.

Laxmivilas Rasa is a very effective formulation in treating chronic non-healing wounds, fistula and disorders of the urinary system. It is also prescribed in gynecological diseases, headache, rheumatoid arthritis, ascites and sinusitis.

    • This medication is best avoided in pregnancy, lactation and in children.
