Q. Were you into health and fitness as a child or is this something you got interested in later years?

Health and fitness became the focus of my life after I gave birth to my younger daughter when my weight shot up to 86kgs. It happened due to the side effects of medicines given during pregnancy. After consulting with the doctors, I was told that my weight won’t reduce, which is when I took it as a challenge. I started by understanding the role of eating and food in my own diet and practicing N.L.P. and meditation, which made me content inside out.

Q. When and how did you decide to sign up for the Mrs. Asia Woman of Universe?

I was already Mrs. Bharat Icon 2017 runner-up. After the encouragement from my younger daughter, I decided to go ahead with the Mrs. Asia pageant. My dream came true with all the support from my family and friends.

Q. Was the preparation difficult and challenging? How did you keep up with it?

Taking something as difficult or challenging is in our mind. According to me, if you understand the functions of a new car which you’ve recently bought, then driving it will be easier for you. Similarly, if you understand your end goals, facing the challenges will be easier.

Q. What were some of your best and most difficult moments throughout the pageant?

Winning the crown of Mrs. Asia was one of the best moments. There was nothing difficult as I enjoyed the journey.

Q. You’ve been part of multiple beauty pageants now – how has this brought a change in life? Is it a short-lived experience or is there really much more to being a part of a pageant?

First I participated in Mrs. Bharat and then Mrs. Asia. Yes, it definitely brought a drastic change in my life. For me, this experience matters the most as I got a chance to open my N.G.O. ‘Paankh’. It also made me more compassionate.

Q. What advice would you give those who are interested in participating in a beauty pageant?

Live your life, not with an intention to compete, but do your best, enjoy what you are doing, and you will achieve what you deserve.
