Most of us exfoliate our skin as soon as we wake up to remove the dead skin cells and debris and keep the skin alive. But how many times have we extended exfoliation to the scalp too? Never! This is probably one of the reasons for a weak scalp. Brush hair everyday with bristle brush to enhance circulation, spread the scalp oils and eliminate debris that prevents hair growth.

The key to thick and healthy hair is to follow a cleansing routine. Make it a habit to wash hair once in 3 days with a detoxifying or dandruff-control shampoo. Washing your hair rarely can build dirt on scalp which can slow down the growth and enhance dryness.

When you cleanse, follow these points:

  • Make use of clarifying shampoo at least once a month
  • Use cold hair to wash your hair as it can reduce the internal heat and activate the scalp cells
  • Use same line of shampoo and conditioner to avoid side effects
  • Pat dry your hair to avoid breaks

Tip: If you find your hair oily all the time, you can use a toner to remove impurities and train scalp to generate less oil.

Avoid Tight Braiding During Bedtime

When you are off to sleep, make sure to loosely braid the hair. This doesn’t mean you will have to let it open as that can create knots and frizziness. When you tie the hair, use scrunchies instead of a tight tie as the latter can increase friction and lead to breakage of hair. This indirectly affects your scalp strength.
