Bhaiyyaji Superhit Movie Review: Outrageous And Illogical!

But if you’ve liked Race 3, you’re sure to love Bhaiyyaji Superhit!

Sunny Deol’s Bhaiyyaji Superhit is a comedy drama about a gangster who loves his wife like crazy. But what happens when his wife leaves him because of a misunderstanding? He gets a failed director to make a film about their love story to win back his wife’s love.

The plot becomes messier with a lookalike of Bhaiyyaji comes into the scene to complicate things even further! The humor is not anywhere close to refined though it does make you laugh at times. It’s a bad version of a Shakespearean comedy of errors of sorts.

Sunny Deol as Bhaiyyaji is madly in love with his wife

Sunny paaji does what he does best with his ‘dhai kilo ka haath.’ He’s done a decent job in the double roles as both Bhaiyyaji and the squeaky voiced Funny. He’s back to doing some jaw breaking action in the film.

Preity Zinta as Sapna, Bhaiyyaji’s beloved wife tries her best to speak in broken English but fails miserably in her quest to play a small town housewife! Though it’s good to see her back on screen again.

The film also stars Arshad Warsi as the failed director who has some witty dialogues in the film. The best one is when he tells the writer of the film tells him that he didn’t write the scene and Arshad mocks him and says no wonder I enjoyed it! There are some fun references to how Bollywood films are written and executed.

Sunny Deol has a double role in Bhaiyyaji Superhit

Ameesha Patel as the heroine of the film that Bhaiyaji is producing is pathetic even when she’s acting in a film within a film! (God help her!). While Shreyas Talpade as a Bengali screenwriter is over the top and his Bengali accent sounds completely fake. Though the comic timing between him and Arshad are good.

Bhaiyyaji Superhit is loud and crude

The film, on the whole, is loud, crude, illogical, over the top and badly made. But if you go expecting the worst (like I did) or better still with no expectation, chances are you might just enjoy some of the scenes no matter how stupid or illogical it may be. Also, if you’re one of those who sat through Race 3 you’re sure to survive Bhaiyyaji Superhit and maybe even love it!
