Parineeti Chopra, who is all geared up for her next film ‘Golmaal Again’ this Diwali, said that though she was new to the franchise, her cast members made her feel welcome and a part of the team.
The movie, directed by Rohit Shetty, features Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Kunal Khemu, Parineeti and Tabu in prominent roles.
Rather, she was completely star-struck by her co-actors. “There was this bond between them and they understood each other… They knew exactly what to do. As I was new I thought I might just mess this up, I didn’t know what to do. But within 10 minutes of being on the sets, I was welcomed. These people are so mad that I realised why I was cast for this film… because I am like them. I really found friends for life and that is my biggest takeaway from the film.”
Ajay and Rohit’s Prank on Pari
Rohit Shetty is known to be a prankster on the sets but Parineeti said her co-star Ajay Devgn was equally bad.
“Ajay and Rohit are the worst and most dangerous people on the sets. They play so many pranks on the sets and you are not allowed to misbehave. I was new and I did not know them that well. I had to be careful and look around. Once Rohit sir told me to do something bizzare in terms of a survey. I initially questioned it but he later convinced me to do it and I realised later that they were pulling my leg,” Parineeti said.
1st Full-fledged Comedy for Pari
“To do this kind of comedy and this kind of film, to speak in a language that keeps the whole country (entertained) is very tough. Now, I have realised that as cliche as it sounds, comedy is a serious business.”
Coming to the director of the film, Shetty said veteran actress Tabu the was keen to do a commercial film. “Tabu once told me she wanted to do a commercial film. When we were working on this (‘Golmaal Again’) I felt she was the apt choice. She is great at whatever she does,” said Rohit.
On the other hand, Kunal Khemu, who shared screen space with Tabu for the first time, said he was initially nervous.
“Tabu is a very funny person and I relate to her as a serious person because of the work she has done. I was nervous initially. She also takes time to open up. She is fun to work with.”

Rohit Shetty said, “We had a basic story when we did ‘Singham’ but it did not work out. We were thinking what new element to bring in the ‘Golmaal’ series… We thought of horror comedy space. It took three-four years to get the script right. We are hopeful audience will enjoy this space of ‘Golmaal’.”
Rohit said the next film in “Golmaal” series will depend on the response to the fourth instalment, which is due for October 20 release.
Will the audience like Golmaal Again?
“Don’t know how much successful the film will be. We are happy that the people have liked the trailer. After seven years a film is coming in ‘Golmaal’ series and we made sure it is better. We have added more elements,” Kunal Khemu said.
The movie is set to release on October 20.
