The trailer of Sui Dhaaga directed by Sharat Katariya of Dum Laga Ke Haisha fame is out today and is already getting great reviews. The trailer does look very impressive.

Sui Dhaaga is inspired by Make in India and stars Anushka Sharma and Varun Dhawan, this is the first time Varun and Anushka have been paired together for a film. Sui Dhaaga as the name suggests, warrants tailoring and both Varun and Anushka seem to have familiarized themselves with the art-form! So much so that the two actually look like small town tailors. Anushka looks totally different from all her other films. She is very convincing as a small town housewife. Everything from the way they hold the scissor or move the cloth looks absolutely right.

Speaking about the actors, Sharat said that Varun dedicatedly learnt everything that a tailor needs to know about his profession from stitching to mastering sewing machines and other things from an in-house tailor, Noor, at YRF Studios. He made sure he went there every single day to perfect the skill set of a trained tailor. That dedication definitely comes across in the film.

“This film is very special to me and I took the blessings of my newborn niece before coming here. I cannot express in words the way I feel about this film. It’s a sense of pride and a sense of the pride you feel to be an Indian. While doing this film, I felt so proud of my country and it was amazing to see the different people around our country and realise what a beautiful country we live in,” said Varun.

Speaking about her role Anushka said, “When the film was offered to me I loved the script but I said no to the film the first time because I felt I could not do justice to the role as it was beside my personality. I was afraid. Both me and Aditya Chopra thought the same but Sharat and Manish were convinced and eventually convinced me and I am proud I did the film.”

Looking at the trailer, it seems that both Varun and Anushka were made for the film! Sui Dhaaga – Made in India is set to release on 28 September this year.
