Want To Know What Went Into The Making Of The Sui Dhaaga Song Launch Event?

20000 kgs of dhaaga was used to make this gorgeous set but that’s not all. Deets inside

Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma’s ‘Sui Dhaaga’ is gaining a lot of interest and curiosity thanks to Varun and Anushka’s unconventional look in the film and an equally unconventional subject. Afterall not many would think of making a film about the humble tailors and local craftsmen. Sui Dhaaga has an interesting subject, talented cast and is sure to be a great film. The film also looks realistic right from the look of the characters and the sets.

Sui Dhaaga is the story of a small town couple Mauji played by Varun Dhaaga and Mamta played by Anushka Sharma. Mauji does odd jobs and lives a life of indignity until his wife coaxes him to start something of his own. The two work together to realise their dream and start tailoring and work towards setting up their own company.

Sui Dhaaga is inspired by Make in India and this is the first time Varun and Anushka have been paired together for a film. Varun learnt everything that a tailor needs to know about his profession from stitching to mastering the sewing machine and nuances of a tailor from Noor, who is an in-house tailor at YRF. The trailer of the film looks incredible and so does the performances of Varun and Anushka.

In keeping with the unique script and film, Yash Raj Films launched the trailer of the film in a unique way too. They converted a 7700 sq ft shooting floor into a completely different world of weaves and vibrant colored threads. 20000 kgs of dhaaga was used to make this gorgeous set. There were around 550 artists who worked together for 132 hours to put up this humongous set with seven different installations!

They are right when they say that this was not just a trailer launch but an experience. It sure was an experience for all of us too!
