Was it just friendship or the fear of being overshadowed by Padmaavat?

Here’s The Real Reason Why Padman Is Postponed to 9 February

We just wrote about the release of PadMan getting pushed to 9 February and the makers of the film have officially confirmed the same. However, for all those who are keen to know why the release of the film has been pushed further, we bring you the real reason!

In a joint press conference with Padmaavat director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the makers of PadMan spoke to the press regarding the same. Akshay Kumar revealed that PadMan was being moved at the request of Mr. Bhansali, whose film has already faced a lot of delay and problems because of the protests. “He has gone through a lot. It is essential for them to release the film at this time, their stakes are higher than mine,” said Akshay. He also added that Sanjay was a dear friend.

In return, Sanjay too said, “I will be grateful to him for a lifetime. This is how we stand with each other.” Padmaavat, previously titled Padmavati, was originally scheduled to release last month but was postponed after its application for certification was rejected by the Censor Board.

Prernaa Arora who is the co-producer of PadMan had already told agencies that it would be ‘foolhardy’ to release PadMan with Padmaavat.

Looks like her wish has come true and the film will no longer be releasing with Padmaavat but with Aiyaari on 9 February 2018.
