Reality shows can often open up vistas for budding talent and creativity. They offer a platform where young powerhouses of energy and innovation can showcase their talent up front and be acknowledged and praised for the same. Reality shows are a stepping stone from where talents go on to emerge as big names in their respective fields.

Arijit Singh from Fame Gurukul

Arijit’s soulful voice has proven to be one of the best Bollywood has ever seen. His tum hi ho had emerged to be the romantic anthem of that year. His debut was “Phir Mohabbat” from Murder 2. Arijit was a runner-up in the singing contest Fame Gurukul that was won by Qazi and Rooprekha. He even went on to participate in another show called 10 Ke 10 Le Gaye Dil. He also worked as assistant music director and producer for several renowned composers like Shankar Ehsaan Loy, Mithoon and Vishal Shekhar.

Shreya Ghoshal from SaReGaMa

Shreya Ghoshal entered the world of a highly competitive reality show at the tender age of 16. Back then SaReGaMaPa was just SaReGaMa. Over time it evolved to be one of the most famous music reality shows of all time. Her talent couldn’t go unnoticed and Sanjay Leela Bhansali signed her right away for Devdas.

Sunidhi Chauhan from Meri Awaz Suno

Her story is even more inspiring. She performed at the Filmfare awards when she was just 12 as a part of a group called Little Wonders. She participated in Meri Awaz Suno, a DD national reality show, from where there was no looking back. She was even appreciated with the Lata Mangeshkar trophy on the show. She has several Filmfare and other awards to her name.

Monali Thakur from Indian Idol

She became famous, especially after she sang “Sawarloon” from Lootera. Music flows in her blood as she is the daughter of famous singer Shakti Thakur. Before she even participated in Indian Idol she was awarded the Anandalok trophy. Music composer Anu Malik gave her the major big break in the movie Jaan-E-Mann.

Neeti Mohan from Popstars

She is one of the very talented young artists. Her name gained fame after she emerged as one of the winners of Channel V’s show named Popstars. Her debut was with the famous song “Ishq wala love” from the movie Student of the year. She has also received several accolades like the RD Burman award for the song “jiya re” from Jab Tak Hain Jaan.

These stories show how hard work and a bit of luck is the ideal recipe for success. Many of them didn’t win the reality shows but that didn’t stop them from reaching their goal.
