Hate Story 4’s Music Review

The music is as sensual as the trailer

The release of Hate Story 4 is right around the corner, but in the meantime, songs from the film are keeping fans excited about it. The newest track is called Badnaamiyan, and wreaking havoc on YouTube with its music video. We’re going to give you a quick music review of the album today.

The first track from the film is a reprised version of the classic, Aashiq Banaya Aapne. Sung by Himesh Reshammiya himself, along with Neha Kakkar, it adds a gloomy touch to the original song. Neha Kakkar’s voice brings some sensuality to it.

Boond Boond Mein by Jubin Nautiyal and Neeti Mohan is a nice slow number which starts off with a neat guitar piece. The song is inspired from Spanish music, and creates a romantic mood. Tum Mere Ho, on the other hand, is a retro track. It has been sung beautifully by Jubin Nautiyal, Amrita Singh.

Badnaamiyan from Hate Story 4 is a love song sung by Armaan Malik. Being a love song, it goes quite soft with its overall tone. This composition by Baman-Chand works well for the atmosphere which the song is try to create. However, there’s nothing in it that will make you croon it.

The lyrics penned by Rashmi Virag are not extraordinary as well. In the end, Badnaamiyan turns out to be a very average little track. What has most people listening to it is the music video which is filled to the brim with sensual scenes between the lead actors.

The next song from the album is Naam Hai Mera which is a take on Himesh’s Naam Hai Tera. It’s definitely a weak link in the album since it doesn’t manage to make any impact with its music or lyrics. The soundtrack ends with the song Mohabbat Nasha Hai which is a duet sung by Tony Kakkar and Neha Kakkar. This one also has nothing extraordinary to offer.

As its name suggests, Hate Story 4 is the fourth film from the franchise to hit theatres. The film’s makers file it under the ‘erotic thriller’ genre, as it offers a revenge story that’s centred heavily around a woman who seeks retribution by using her sexuality.

The first film from the franchise was released back in 2012, and starred Paoli Dam, along with Gulshan Devaiya, Nikhil Dwivedi and Joy Sengupta. The second one came in 2014, and starred Surveen Chawla, Jay Bhanushali and Sushant Singh. As for the third film from the franchise, it was released in 2015 with a starcast that included Karan Singh Grover, Sharman Joshi, Zareen Khan and Daisy Shah.
