Already on its way to 2 million YouTube views is the single Guitar Sikhda which was released by Jassie Gill just two days ago. The Punjabi singer, who is all set to make his Bollywood debut soon, has delivered yet another catchy number that’s funny and romantic in equal measure.

With Guitar Sikhda, Jassie has tried to address the juvenile things we end up doing because we have a crush on someone. Among them is the urge to impress them by playing a song on the guitar, hence the title.

Another funny reference to such an experience is in the first line of the song, wherein the singer says that he has learned to love his muse by listening to Enrique’s Hero. This is the note on which the song begins, reeling us in with its funny quotient.

As one would expect, the music is dominated by the guitar. The soft strums are accompanied by slow beats that set a steady pace for the track. Guitar Sikhda has a strong hip-hop vibe going for it, but it’s distinguished by Jassie’s trademark voice.

The video for this one is very much akin to the videos of other Punjabi songs that have taken over YouTube lately. A poor lovestruck man pining for the attention of an attractive rich girl is a trope that should have died ages ago.

What’s more, this poor man can afford to ride expensive bikes and wear lavish clothes, but doesn’t have enough loose change to put into a donation box. Almost no effort has been taken to make a good video, but the fact that it has already garnered so many views proves that they don’t need to.

Coming back to the song itself, this one is a promising release by Jassie Gill, and is sure to please his fans.
