Justin Bieber will soon be seen lending his voice to an animated feature film based on Cupid, the mischievous god of desire. This film is being made by Mythos Studios, a newly founded film company in Hollywood. Bieber recently confirmed this news via his Instagram account by posting a sketch of the character using the hashtag #cupidmovie.

Cupid has been portrayed a large number of times in popular culture, but there has never been an entire movie dedicated to him. The mythological figure who is the son of love goddess Venus and war god Mars, is always shown to be holding a bow and arrow, ready to shoot at people to make them instantly fall in love. Justin Bieber is no stranger to acting. He was seen recently in 2016’s Zoolander 2, while he had also made a cameo appearance in 2012’s Men in Black 3.

Very few details about the Cupid film are available at the moment, and we don’t even know when it’s scheduled to go on floors. What we do know is that Mythos Studios has been founded by Scooter Braun and David Maisel. Scooter, as many know, happens to be Justin Bieber’s manager. He moreover, renders his services to other big names in the music industry like Ariana Grande, Martin Garrix, Psy, Carly Rae Jepsen, Tori Kelly and The Wanted.

David Maisel, on the other hand, is a Hollywood producer who is known to be one of the architects of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, or MCU as it’s more popularly known. It was reported earlier this year that Mythos has purchased half the rights to Aspen Comics, and has hired Catherine Winder, the animation producer responsible for The Angry Birds Movie.

In a recent press release, Scooter spoke about Justin Bieber’s involvement in the Cupid project. He said, “When this project was brought to Justin, he instantly was excited to be a part of it. Fortunately for us, like Cupid, he knows a little bit about love and mischief.” David Maisel also expressed his thoughts on the matter, saying “Both myself and Scooter have a lifelong love of mythology and we are so excited to partner with Justin to bring the amazing, magical story of Cupid to the world.

Let us now see how well he is able to portray Cupid in the upcoming animated film.
