The release of Salman Khan’s Bharat is not too far away from now, and its makers have now released the video version of yet another song from the film. Turpeya has been blessed with its music video, which features Nora Fatehi. The entire soundtrack of the film, composed by Vishal-Shekhar, is already available for streaming on all major platforms right now.

The music video of Turpeya has Salman Khan wearing a navy uniform and dancing at a foreign location, along with Sunil Grover, who plays his friend in the movie. It’s quite strange that Nora Fatehi has been given just a few seconds of screen time in this video.

Turpeya is a song about moving away from home, yet not forgetting your roots. Irshad Kamil’s lyrics try to drive this point home with lines like, “Chaar paise kamawan li, main aaya ghar se door. Ghar se door main aaya lekin, ghar na mujhse door” and “Dil de mere batwe vich, ab bhi ghar da photo. Seena cheer ke check kar lena, doubt joh koi ho toh.”

The song has been sung by Sukhwinder Singh. His vocal performance is admirable, but the composition itself isn’t quite impressive. The use of music seems quite in contrast to the kind of lyrics being uttered. Seems every Punjabi song these days just has to be given upbeat and dance-worthy music.

Bharat has been directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, whose last film Tiger Zinda Hai, didn’t quite get favourable reviews. The film however, still managed to become a box office success. This latest Salman Khan starrer traces India’s post-independence history from the perspective of a common man, and follows his life from the age of 18 to 70. Apart from Salman, it has Tabu, Disha Patani, Sunil Grover and Jackie Shroff in major roles.

Bharat will be released in theatres across India on June 5, which falls on Eid.
